About Us

Meet The Founder - Natalia Alcazar

Dahlia Coffee Co. was a dream that I had in my early 20s.

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I was surrounded by amazing coffee shops and coffee roasters. Coffee became a part of my daily routine; something I "couldn't live without". I enjoyed going to new coffee shops, trying coffee from different local roasters, and tasting coffee from different parts of the world.

My appreciation for coffee grew when I began to learn about where coffee was grown and all the hard work that goes into producing coffee. Although coffee was my dream, I decided to play it safe and stay at a corporate job where I could climb the corporate ladder.

I had a lot of success in the corporate world. I reached a level that allowed me financial freedom, the ability to travel, and have nice things. Even though I was making good money, I was very unhappy. I knew that if I continued on this path, this job would consume my entire life. During this time, I kept thinking of my old self that dreamed of owning a coffee roasting business. I knew that this was a point in my life where I had to make a decision - I could risk it all for something that I was passionate about OR I could continue on this path and work in the corporate world for the next 30+ years.

In August of 2022, I decided to quit my job and follow my dream...

Behind the Brand

When coming up with a name for my company, I knew I wanted to tie it back to my Mexican roots (mis raíces)

The Dahlia flower is Mexico's National flower, which is why I chose the name for my company.

My dream is to proudly represent Latinos in the Coffee Industry by taking a seat at the table, as well as highlighting all the hard work that Latino Farmers and Producers (and all people of color) do to give the world the gift of coffee.
